Netflix has dropped the official trailer for its upcoming original K-drama series Hierarchy. Read on for all you need to know about the new series, including plot details, cast, premiere date and more.

What is the plot of Hierarchy?

Established by conglomerate Jooshin Group, Jooshin High School has established itself as the most prestigious and exclusive high school in South Korea, with its student body enrolled through a selection process that begins as early as birth. As such, Jooshin’s students are the children of some of South Korea’s richest and most powerful people.

Meanwhile, Kang-ha makes history as the first and only transfer student in Jooshin High School. He is also the only student in the school to receive a full scholarship, however it’s clear that he has a secret to hide. The cracks of Jooshin High School begin to show upon his transfer.

Who will be starring in the new Netflix show?

So far, only five cast members have been revealed, all set to star as students of the school. See You In My 19th Life breakout star Lee Chae-min will play series lead Kang-ha.

Meanwhile, other actors cast as students include Roh Jeong-eui (Our Beloved Summer, Badland Hunters) as Jung Jae-yi, King The Land‘s Kim Jae-won as Kim Ri-an, The Sound of Magic‘s Ji Hye-na as Yoon He-ra and My Perfect Stranger‘s Lee Won-jung as Lee Woo-jin.

Is there a trailer for Hierarchy?

On May 16, Netflix dropped a new teaser for the thrilling new K-drama, that starts with a shot of an unconscious student lying in the middle of a dirty alley, in the dead of night. Sinister music starts playing as a montage of school life at Jooshin High begin playing, from sport co-curriculars to after-school parties where students socialise.

However, things begin to heat up when Kang-ha arrives in school and its vicious students begin to pick on him – from revenge porn to physical bullying, Kang-ha reaches his boiling point when he screams at the end of the trailer: “Everyone in this school is nuts!”

A full trailer for Hierarchy was released on May 27. It opens with a woman’s voice admitting: “I killed someone. I said I killed someone.” The clip the jumps right into the tense and dark atmosphere of Jooshin High School, and the social politics at play on the campus.

Later. the trailer introduces viewers to the characters of the show while teasing the secrets the each of them are hiding, as well as the lavish parties and complicated relationships that tie them to one another.

How do I watch Hierarchy?

The new series will make its international premiere exclusively on Netflix on June 7.
