EXO singer Xiumin has dropped a music video for his new single ‘WHEE!’, the lead single from his second solo mini-album ‘Interview X’.
‘Interview X’, which came out on March 10, marks his first music release as a soloist in over two years, since 2022’s ‘Brand New’. The mini-album is also his first project since leaving longtime label SM Entertainment and signing with bandmate Baekhyun‘s new label, INB100.
In the music video for ‘WHEE!’, Xiumin clones himself to get work done in the midst of a huge, empty warehouse. “The dream that will reach this happiest moment / Don’t go far away, shout it out again / Oh, wee (Oh, oh) / The light that you’ll find if you keep going / Now I’ll meet you / Crash into you,” he sings on the UK garage-inspired track.
‘Interview X’ marks Xiumin’s first solo work since he made his debut under SM Entertainment with the ‘Brand New’ mini-album in September 2022. The record had made him the seventh member of EXO to go solo, after Baekhyun, Chen, Suho, Lay, Kai and D.O.
In support of the new album, Xiumin announced that he would be touring Asia as part of the upcoming ‘X Times ()’ tour. Featuring six shows over three months, Xiumin is set to kick off the tour with a show in Seoul later this month before he travels across Japan and Southeast Asia from April to May.
The announcement of Xiumin’s solo tour in Asia came a day after his EXO bandmate Kai announced his own, called the ‘KAION’ tour. Featuring a total of 10 stops so far, the tour is slated to begin with a two-night show at Seoul’s Olympic Handball Gymnasium in May.
